Why are nearby bus stops not showing?
Ensure that your device’s Location Services are enabled and that the app has permission to access your location. The Nearby tab shows the stops within 500 m of you, on the map and in the list under it; if it's taking a moment, step away from tall buildings and pull down to refresh, or use the search button to find your stop manually by code, name or road. Can I see where my bus is right now?
Yes. Tap the full-screen button on a bus stop's map to see the buses on their way to it, moving along their roads. Zoom in to see them. Positions come from LTA and update every 10 seconds on the full-screen map (every 15 on the smaller maps); between updates each bus moves at the pace that gets it to the stop on time, and it eases onto each new position rather than jumping. A route's map and the Nearby map show live buses too.Does SG Bus show the NUS and NTU shuttle buses?
Yes. Tap the graduation-cap button at the top of any tab and choose NUS Shuttle or NTU Shuttle, or search for nus or ntu. You get every campus route (NUS: A1, A2, D1, D2, K, P, R1 and R2; NTU: Campus Loop Red and Blue, Campus Rider and Campus Weekend Rider) and stop, with live timings, crowd levels, the shuttles moving on the map, routes and first and last buses. You can bookmark campus stops, and at stops shared with public buses, such as Kent Ridge MRT or NTU's Hall 2, the shuttles show beside the public buses. SG Bus is not affiliated with NUS or NTU.What is the Bus Board?
The Bus Board is the simple view of SG Bus, for when you only want to know which bus is coming next. It shows the stop nearest you, the walk to it, and its next buses by the minute they are due, each bus number in a dot coloured by how full the bus is. Swipe left or right for the next nearest stop. It refreshes every 10 seconds while it is on screen. Tap the Bus Board button beside the tabs to switch to it (it moves to the ⋮ menu where there is no room), and tap Full app on the board to switch back. SG Bus opens on whichever you used last. Why does the Bus Board need my location?
It uses your location to find the stops nearest you, and nothing else. Your location stays on your phone. If location is off for SG Bus, the board tells you where to switch it back on. Without location you can still use the full app: search for any stop, or open your Bookmarks. How do I see the 3rd bus arrival timing?
On the bus arrivals screen, tap the ⋮ (more) button at the top and select Show 3 timings. Select Show 2 timings to go back. We brought this back by popular demand to help you plan your journey even better. How do I switch between cards and a list?
Everyone has a favorite way to view data. On the bus arrivals screen, tap the ⋮ (more) button and select List view for a compact list, or Card view to switch back to cards. Choose the one that helps you read timings at a glance! Can I rename my favorite bus stops?
Yes! To make your commute more personal, you can rename any bus stop (e.g., "Home," "Office," or "School"). Tap the ⋮ (more) button on the stop's arrivals screen and select Rename bus stop, or tap the ⋮ button on a bookmarked stop and select the same.Where do I find a stop I checked earlier?
On the Bookmarks tab, tap the Recent button (it is in the ⋮ menu on a phone). It lists the last 10 bus stops you opened, latest first, with how far away each one is, so you can reopen a stop without bookmarking it.How do I calculate my travel fare?
To ensure you get the most accurate and official rates, we provide a direct link to the official fare calculator. On the bus arrivals screen, tap the ⋮ (more) button and select Fare calculator; it will take you to the official site where you can enter your journey details to see the exact cost. How do I check for MRT disruptions?
Open the MRT/LRT Lines tab. Each line shows how it is running, and Train status under the lines lists any service delays, track faults or planned works across all lines (NSL, EWL, NEL, CCL, DTL, TEL and the LRT), so you can take an alternative route. Allow notifications to also receive travel advisories.Does SG Bus show live MRT train arrival times?
No. There is no public source for live MRT/LRT train timings yet, so SG Bus shows every line and station, the MRT map, station exits and amenities, and train service status instead. The trains moving along the line drawings are only an illustration. Why is the arrival timing sometimes slightly off?
The arrival data is provided directly by the LTA (Land Transport Authority). While it is highly accurate, factors like heavy traffic, weather, or road incidents can occasionally cause slight variations. We recommend arriving at the stop a minute or two early! How do I find a mall, landmark or station?
Type its name in the search bar, such as "VivoCity" or "Changi Airport", and SG Bus lists the bus stops beside it. This needs an internet connection; without one, search still finds stops and services by code, name, road and number from the data saved on your phone. Postal codes are not searchable yet.How do I find a specific Bus Interchange?
Pro-Tip: Most bus interchange stop codes end with "009". You can combine this with the name in the search bar (e.g., search "009 Bishan") to find your interchange instantly. Are my bookmarks kept if I change phones?
On iPhone and iPad, yes. Your bookmarks, stop names, pins, recent stops and a few settings are kept in your iCloud, with no sign-in needed, so they come back on a new or reinstalled device and on your other Apple devices. On Android, they are included in your phone’s backup to your Google account and come back when you reinstall or set up a new phone, if backup is on.Does SG Bus have Home Screen widgets or a watch app?
Yes, on iPhone and Android. Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Add Widget (Widgets on Android) and pick SG Bus. The Nearby Stops widget shows the stop nearest you and its next buses, and you can step to the other stops near you with its arrows. The Bus stop widget (small or wide) shows a stop you choose (Edit Widget on iPhone; on Android it asks as you place it, and its settings change it): your bookmarks come first, and any stop can be found by code, name or road. Both have a refresh button. On Apple Watch, SG Bus shows the Bus Board for the stops nearest you; turn the Digital Crown to move to the next stop. On watches with Wear OS 3 or newer, it shows the same Bus Board; turn the bezel or crown, or swipe, to move to the next stop. Why does the Nearby widget on Android ask for my location all the time?
Android lets a widget use your location while SG Bus is closed only if you choose Allow all the time and Precise (on Android 9 and older, allowing location is enough). Until you do, the widget shows a note: tap it to set it up. The widget uses your location only to find the stops nearest you, and your location never leaves your phone. If you prefer one stop, add the Bus stop widget instead. Can SG Bus read my EZ-Link card?
Yes, on phones with NFC. Open EZ-Link card from the card button (or the ⋮ menu) at the top of any tab, tap Read my card, then hold your EZ-Link or NETS FlashPay card to the phone until the balance shows, with its recent trips. The card is read on your phone and the result stays there. Bank cards are not read, and for a SimplyGo card the balance is in the SimplyGo app.Can I use SG Bus in my language?
Yes. SG Bus is available in 23 languages, including 中文, Bahasa Indonesia, 日本語, 한국어, ไทย and Tiếng Việt. It follows your phone's language setting. Are the bus routes and services up to date?
We update our database regularly to reflect the latest LTA changes. If you spot a missing stop or a new service, please let us know at hello@sgbus.app, and we’ll update it immediately. Why are there ads in the app?
SG Bus is a personal project, and ads help to cover the ongoing costs of development, server maintenance, and data API fees. We strive to keep them as non-intrusive as possible so you can still get your timings quickly. Can I remove the ads?
Yes! We offer a one-off In-App Purchase (IAP) to remove ads if you prefer a completely clean experience. Open About from the top of any tab and choose Buy me a coffee. If you have bought it before, tap Restore Purchase on a new phone. The free version stays fully functional-the purchase is strictly optional to support the developer.
